AUTOMOBILE
ACCIDENTS and PERSONAL INJURY
Auto
Accident
Have
you been injured in an accident? What will be the extent of
your injury? Do you believe that another person was at fault
and why? Who are the witnesses? Was information exchanged
at the scene? Was there a police report? Should you make or
give a statement? Did anyone make a statement at the scene?
Did you contact your insurance company? If the other driver's
insurance company contacts you, should you speak with them?
Who will pay for your medical care? Who will pay to have your
car repaired? What are my insurance coverages? These are some
of the questions that may cross your mind if you have been
involved in an auto accident. These questions are relevant
to your potential claim.
In
order to protect your rights regarding your claim, it may
be prudent to retain an attorney as soon as possible after
the accident. Our law firm represents individuals who have
suffered bodily injury in an automobile accident. Utilizing
our knowledge and experience in both law and medicine, we

due to an automobile accident. Many times, an accident involves
serious head, neck, and/or back injuries. Later on in this
type of case, the treating physicians and medical experts
may be called to testify regarding the cause, extent, treatment,
and chance of recovery concerning the injuries involved.

Slip
and Fall Accident
This
type of accident case is probably the second most common type
of negligence case that is filed. Aside from having to prove
their injury, the injured party must also be able to prove
that the owner of the property or store owner was at fault
(failed to exercise reasonable care) regarding the hazardous
condition of the property which resulted in the slip or fall.
As an example, fault may occur when a store employee is wet
mopping the floor but fails to put up a caution sign to warn
customers of the slippery floor. Or, when poor maintenance
results in inadequate lighting in a dark stairway in an apartment
building which causes a person to fall. Many times, falls
occur on outdoor property such as when there is a defect (crack
or whole) in the pavement in the walkways or parking lot.

Inadequate
Security
This
form of personal injury involves premises liability in which
the owner of the property, or the store owner, owed the
patron a reasonable duty of care to provide adequate security
(security guard, adequate lighting, etc.) and the owner
failed to do so, resulting in a criminal act by an intruder
involving bodily injury or assault to the aggrieved party
which likely would have been prevented had proper security
precautions been made. Many times, the success of these
cases may hinge on whether the property owner had notice
or should have had notice that there were other similar
incidents that had occurred on the property, but still failed
to act to implement proper and adequate precautions to prevent
another incident from occurring. If you or a loved one has
suffered an injury due to inadequate or negligent security,

Dog
Bites
This
form of personal injury occurs when a dog attacks a guest
or patron resulting in bodily injury. However, a defense
to the case may be when a dog is unnecessarily provoked
by the guest or patron which resulted in the attack. Many
times in these cases, plastic surgery experts or treaters
may be called to testify regarding the extent, treatment,
and care of the injuries that were caused by the attack.
